Ideal for family get togethers and celebrations, this beautifully situated Maison de Maitre nestles in the stunning Gorges de la Vire. Complete peace, quiet and privacy, set in own 2 acres of secure grounds yet only 10 minute drive from A84 allowing easy access from ports/airport. Central position, 45 minute drive from both East and West coasts. Normandy landing beaches, Mont St Michel, and the Brittany border towns of Rennes and St Malo all within an hours easy drive.

Walking and cycling on the doorstep, we are situated on the cycle route crossing Normandy from the Landing beaches to Mont St Michel, or walk for miles along the river on easy well maintained paths direct from the house.

La Cour was built in 1792 during the height of the French Revolution to celebrate the marriage of noble Richard Geoffroy and his Bride Maris. It is a once grand but today warm and welcoming house with large rooms, furnished with a mixture of French antique and quality furnishings. La Cour has not been available for holiday rental over the past 3 years which have been spent restoring the house whilst adding modern day comforts.

The house now offers 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (3 ensuite), 2 large reception rooms and a brand new kitchen with granite work surfaces.On the first floor you will find two exceptionally large double bedrooms each with antique kingsize bed ( new mattresses) and ensuite shower/bathroom. Two further bedrooms are situated on the second floor, one with a double bed and the other a twin bedroom furnished with 2 single vintage French beds, sharing a shower room/ wc. We consider the twin bedroom more suited to children. At the other end of the house, above the kitchen you will find a further brand new double bedroom with ensuite shower room offering privacy and ideal for extended families. The stairs to this bedroom are quite steep and not suitable for those with mobility difficulties. The house can sleep 8 adults and two children.

New for 2020 we have converted an attached barn to create a fully equipped kitchen with granite work surfaces, range cooker, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and microwave. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Our Large holiday Home in Pont Farcy has a large lounge and second beamed lounge/dining room with impressive fireplace and woodburner offer plenty of living space each with tv receiving English channels. A large selection of books, board games and an XBox 360 are provided for indoor fun along with a selection of dvds.

Outside the table tennis table is always well used in the summer and several bikes are available for local cycling. Barbecue, sun-loungers, table and chairs are provided for outdoor living, or sit under the stars in complete darkness listening to the owls hoot across the valley.
